X-Plane 11.40 Public Beta Released

Austin Meyer from Laminar Research has released X-Plane 11.40 in public beta.

In the latest version, Austin continues to push the boundaries of X-Plane, this time introducing significant updates to the experimental flight model. Version 11.40 is primarily a technical update with an extensive list of new features. The main points include more realistic stalls, improved rotor physics in ground effect and better seaplane float dynamics. For gliders, lift from thermals is more tightly defined and the prop and downwash physic have seen a massive update. The PT6 engine model continues to be refined, this time introducing exhaust thrust.

For a detailed overview of the new features in X-Plane 11.40, Austin Meyer released the following YouTube video, courtesy of Michael Brown, owner of X-Force.

The full X-Plane 11.40 changelog is on the Laminar Research website.

Customers can pick up the latest beta by running the X-Plane installer and ticking the ‘Check for new betas’ checkbox.
