Following a development period of 27 months, X-Crafts has announced the Embraer ERJ Family is now available for X-Plane 11.
The package features five aircraft, including the Embraer E135, E140, E145, E145XR and the Legacy 650, which is a business jet version of the E135. The exterior comes with high-resolution 4K textures along with five liveries. Details such as a highly detailed undercarriage, flaps, lights, gauges and antennas are also accurately modelled.
X-Crafts has worked closely with six real ERJ pilots, to achieve accurate flight dynamics and realistic avionics behaviour. Most of the systems replicate those on the real jets with a custom autopilot and displays along with realistic avionics start-up.
Up front, the cockpit features two optional FMC units, a Tekton FMS by Steve Wilson and the X-Plane FMS – please note that these are not replicas of the FMS units usually installed on the jets. Pop-up panels are available for the FMS, PFD MFD, EICAS and Thrust Rating Panel. Details such as dust particles on the screens, fingerprints on buttons, and if you zoom in really close to the screens, you will even see individual pixels on the displays. Wear and tear is modelled throughout the cockpit for a well-worn look.
A variety of animations include wing flex, pilots in external view and operational doors controllable from the plug-in menu. Main and service doors can also be opened by clicking on the levers. A custom plug-in displays on-screen checklists and objects such as a GPU and engine covers.
An FMOD 3D sound package features audio effects which have been recorded from the real jets, including the engines, audible alerts and sounds for different knobs and doors.
