Damyns Hall is Coming to X-Plane 11

Orbx has announced its next airport for X-Plane 11 is EGML Damyns Hall.

The real airfield is located 2nm south of Upminster in the London Borough of Havering, England, the airfield boats around 100 acres of grassland.

The package from Orbx is a small but highly detailed airfield, featuring realistic vegetation with plant and weed species specially photographed, digitised and particle dispersed to create realistic coverage of native vegetation.

In addition, the ground polygons are hand textured at a resolution of 2cm per pixel which means you can see the real-life ditches and gullies that intersect the taxiways, while high definition building textures created from onsite photography.

EGML will soon be available from OrbxDirect for AUD $24.95 (approx. USD $17.78 / €15.59 / £13.97).  Owners of EGML for FSX/P3D will get a 40% off the X-Plane version.

Please note that you will require Orbx Libraries updated and installed to version 1.55 which is also now available. MacOS/Linux users will have the latest libraries included in the cross-platform download available from the support page.

Please also note that for the best experience, Orbx recommends using EGML in conjunction with TrueEarth Great Britain South. The scenery will work without it, but some users may experience the following:

  • Missing or misplaced forests
  • Missing or misplaced buildings surrounding the airport
  • Photoreal blending
