Big Bear City Airport Out Now

The latest destination from Orbx is L35 Big Bear City Airport for FSX and Prepar3D.

Originally released by Turbulent Designs, the package has been re-worked with new 2017 imagery plus the addition of Orbx’s flow technologies such as new static aircraft, PeopleFlow and CreatureFlow.

The airport is located at the eastern end of Big Bear Lake. At an altitude of 6752ft (2058m), it is surrounded by terrain on both sides with mountains over 11,000ft. Its 6750ft runway is frequented by small general aviation aircraft, private jets as well as military and emergency aircraft.

The package features a 1405km2 coverage area from the desert foothills in the east stretching all the way to Lake Arrowhead in the west.   Included in the package is a private airstrip located north of the lake along with the associated homestead.  Here you will find a 3,170ft, gravel strip carved into the landscape. The real airport is currently closed, but Orbx has reopened it here for your enjoyment.

The coverage area links seamlessly with Palm Springs Airport, which is 30NM southeast.  Although designed from the ground up with NA Southern California in mind, Big Bear will blend quite happily with the all of the FTX Global range.

Features
• High-resolution rendition of the airport designed by Russ White
• Ground textures at 60cm/1m
• 3D grass and trees
• Bonus Bear Valley Hospital and helipad
• Custom POIs
• Hundreds of lake objects
• Detailed static aircraft
• Dynamic airport lighting (P3Dv4 only)

Big Bear is available for AUD$32.95 over on the Orbx website
