Canary Islands professional Out Now

Aerosoft has announced Canary Islands professional – El Hierro is now available for Prepar3D v4.

The airport and island of El Hierro are part of a rework of Sim-wings’ ‘Canary Islands’ series, featuring various improvements such as extended lighting effects with realistic night textures, dynamic apron lights and headlights for the apron traffic.  New 3D runway has also been included with activation/deactivation based on time of day and weather conditions.

The updated airport has been compiled with the P3DV4 SDK for better performance and to take advantage of effects such as new shadow technology.  Other highlights include a new accurate elevation model for the island at resolution of 5m per pixel along with a 3D terrain mesh for the airport featuring an underpass and a sloped car park.  The  ground layout is based on a new aerial image at a resolution of 25cm/pixel for the complete island with custom autogen and dynamic car traffic around the airport.  All buildings and installations surrounding the airport have also been recreated.
